How
Do I Find My Bra Size?
You've probably heard that the majority of
women--seven out of ten in fact!--are wearing the wrong bra size. If this
suprising fact has you asking, "How the hell do I find my bra size?", you're not
alone. Fortunately, it's not that hard--all you need is a tape measure. Take
these simple tips to find the perfect bra size for you.
1. With your tape measure, it's time to find your band size. Wrap the measure
directly underneath your breasts and around your back. Keep the measure flat and
don't let it sag--but don't squeeze it either. Write down the measurement (in
inches). If it's odd, add five to get your bra band size. If it's even, just add
four. (Example: 31 + 5 = 36)
2. For your bra cup size, measure around the fullest part of your breasts (the
tape should go directly over your nipple). Write the number down (again, in
inches), and simply subtract your first measurement--the one for band size.
3. The difference between the two numbers will determine your cup size. Every
inch indicates a larger cup size. For example, two equal numbers equals a AA
cup, a difference of one inch equals an A cup, a difference of two inches means
you need a B cup, three inches calls for a C cup, and so on.
What's My Bra Size?
Now, you just put the two measurements together to find your bra size. Here's a
quick example, based on my bra size. (I had to know whether I had the right size
or not!):
Measurement 1 = 30*. Since 30 is even, I added four to get 34.
Measurement 2 = 32*. Since 32 - 30 = 2, I'm a standard B cup.
That's it! I'm a 34B--and I'm glad I measured since I still had a number of 34A
bras that I "thought" were my size.
*For each measurement, I rounded to the closest even number.
