March Madness Parties, Part 2
In a previous post, we gave you tips
on hosting a March Madness NCAA party. Well, here’s an alternative
for those who’d rather get their nails painted than watch players in
the paint. For NCAA widows, why not host your own March Madness
party? Here are a few suggestions:
- Host a spa party. With manicures, pedicures,
facials, and aromatherapy, a spa party is the perfect alternative to
testosterone-fueled weekends. Be sure to have soothing but fun music
in the background–try Sara Evans for a country flavor or Putamayo
CDs for a world vibe that’s mellow yet upbeat.
- Have a chick flick fest. From women-powered
films like “Thelma & Louise” and “In Her Shoes” to ’80s comedy
classics like “Pretty in Pink” and “Sixteen Candles,” celebrating a
day in front of the tube sans basketball can be a blast. Have
popcorn and mimosas for a fabulously fun day!
- Have cocktails in the afternoon. This fun
indulgence is a great way to enjoy a day with the ladies. While
cosmos are fun, they’re a bit old hat. Try mixing exotic rum drinks
(think mojitos!) and playing tropical music–we recommend “Escape” by
Rupert Holmes. (You know… “If you like pina coladas/and getting
caught in the rain”)
- How about a ladies’ poker night? Replace the
MGD with Dos Equis Green and the chips and salsa with crudites.
Then go all in!
There’s no reason to be a basketball
widow during March Madness–plan your own madness and have a blast off
the court!
