Decorate with Your Favorite Purses
Most women have more than one fabulous
bag--it's a shame we can only carry one at at time! Fortunately, you don't
have to keep your purses on the shelf just because it's the wrong season or
you're not carrying them right now. You can use your favorite purses to add some
style to your home and help keep things organized! Try these new
locations for your old purses:
1. On the nightstand.
Keep your night-time reading tucked out of the way along with a convenient hair
clip or lip balm. If you like to listen to music at night, a purse is a
great place to store your iPod or CD player and headphones to keep the clunky
electronics out of sight.
2. In the bookcase.
A fancy purse can add color, style, and interesting shapes to any bookcase.
Beyond that, you can store knick-knacks that don't have any other convenient
storage spot. From a selection of CDs that you've been addicted to, your
latest NetFlix DVDs, old photos, or even your everyday workout videos, handbag
storage can keep your clutter out of sight but still easily accessible.
3. In the bathroom.
A purse with a flat bottom and sturdy sides (so it can stand on its own)
can hold lotions, pills, contact lens solution, perfume bottles, and more.
You might want to stick to materials that can withstand shower steam and the
occasional splash, like patent leather, or you can even use a cute embroidered
straw bag that you replace each year (or as necessary).
4. In lieu of the junk drawer.
Use a purse or clutch to store "to be filed" receipts, bills to be paid, pens,
pencils, tape, and more. Purses with a few extra pockets can be even help
you stay organized by providing places for loose change, stamps, address labels,
note paper--pretty much anything you can think of!
Make those purses do double-duty and
keep your precious handbags out in the open (all the better to be admired) by
putting them to work as the prettiest storage around!
