Bachelorette Party Planning: The Countdown

Easy Steps for Bachelorette Party PlanningBachelorette party planning can seem stressful, so break the process into these easy steps.  With the right attitude, the party planning can be as fun as the shindig itself!

Create a theme when planning your bachelorette party. Whether you're planning a Wild West Showdown, Tropical Luau, or Mexican Fiesta, a theme gives everyone attending the bachelorette party an excuse to dress up, and it makes your planning easier. Everything from the invitations to the snacks can tie into your theme. Your guests will love it, and you'll love getting to narrow down all your party planning options.

Book a restaurant if your bachelorette party will involve dining out. Be sure to have reservations for your bachelorette party at least one week ahead of time, more if you're planning the party during a busy time of year (such as near holidays or graduations).

Book transportation. If there's going to be alcohol at the bachelorette party, planning transportation ahead of time is a must! Limos are extremely affordable for large groups of people, plus, they're fun. Cabs are another option, but don't wait until the last minute; call ahead and book a driver. Or, if at all possible, choose locations that are within easy walking distance!

Book the entertainment for your bachelorette party. Exotic dancers, strippers, pleasure parties, and all that jazz needs to be booked far in advance, so start planning early. No one wants a repeat of the Friends episode where Danny DeVito was the stripper for Phoebe's bachelorette party. Call ahead.

Confirm RSVPs. Just because someone didn't reply to your incredibly cute bachelorette invitation, that doesn't mean they're not coming. Call each guest to confirm; it's a sucky job, but you'll thank yourself later when you don't end up with five extra guests you weren't planning on.

Book the cake or dessert. While you may not have been planning on having any dessert at the bachelorette party, trust us, there are some cakes that will be the party. You'll be a legend--it's totally worth it. (One never-fail standard is The Erotic Bakery, who'll deliver naughty cookies, cake toppers, and/or naughty cheesecakes.) Just be prepared to hear about it for the next five years, and for more party planning requests!
